Picture-Book Series

Idea Institute’s annual multilingual picture-book project, which we began in 1997, is now in its twenty-sixth year.

This year’s picture book focuses on how a unique Japanese culture was formed by bringing together diverse elements. It introduces the aspects of Japanese culture that have been passed down over many years with various influences and survive to the present day, as well as the aspects that we would like to preserve for the future, by following the course of Japanese cultural history.

In this volume, we hope that you will enjoy learning about the changes that occurred in Japanese culture from prehistoric times to the eighth century.

The book’s content is presented in Japanese, English, French, and Spanish.
